Cette exposition était une rétrospective de l'œuvre (européenne) Jimmie Durham après 1994.
Le titre coïncide avec le verset « La pierre rejetée par ceux qui bâtissaient » du Livre des Psaumes 118-22. Durham l'a choisi parce qu’il rend explicite un système hiérarchique dans lequel l'architecte est le seul habilité à construire et détruire la cité, définissant de la sorte le mode vie des citoyens.
