By averting the model\u0026rsquo;s gaze, the sitter is depersonalised and the image is \u0026lsquo;un-portrayed\u0026rsquo;. The effect creates a more abstract, more suggestive and less descriptive image. After creating \u003cem\u003eE-101-92\u003c/em\u003e, Braeckman goes on to make a photo series of a half-naked woman, whose face is covered by her long hair.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eFor these series, Braeckman first uses a code as a title. Since then, the titles of Braeckman\u0026rsquo;s photographic work consist of letters and numbers.
