Literary synopsis
Four couples in a new housing estate are linked by a tangle of secret adulterous relationships. One neighbour dreams of another neighbour, and no one is happy with his or her own other half anymore. Thilo, son of an adulterous couple, witnesses quarrels, drunken blows and flirtations in the dark gardens. He is in love with girl next door Doris, for whom he wants to buy a beautiful piece of jewelry, but he has no money. To make matters worse, his nose starts to bleed all the time. And every time he seems to change something in the process, losing some faith until he too is a disenchanted drinker.
