Item: From Bow to Ear

Collection: Stad Antwerpen, in langdurige bruikleen in M HKA (Inv. no. SCA0008).

From Bow to Ear is an installation with ceramic instruments, presented between five arches that mark out the space. The instruments are amplified by contact microphones, which Garnica uses to bring the instruments to life by touching them or blowing into them. The sounds overlap and take on a life of their own. What was once a static sculpture becomes a dynamic sound experience that occupies the entire space.
