The third part in this series finds Anna enjoying the pinnacle of her stardom, uncomfortably exploited to bring in the big bucks, starring in epic films alongside Cary Grant and taking young lovers. Wittig's imagined historical fiction buries its greedy hands into the hidden, yet rampant, homosexuality of prewar Hollywood, complexly interwoven with narratives of love, money-lust, power, exploitation and celebrity. Relation of the novel to the artist’s practice Wittig’s collages made from black and white photographs illustrate the story.
