Anatoly Osmolovsky is naast kunstenaar ook theoreticus, curator, uitgever en performance-activist.
Een ander aspect van de performatieve en activistische praktijk van Osmolovsky wordt gevormd door de 'bewegingen' die hij heeft opgericht en geleid: de E.A.T.-beweging (Expropriation of Art Territories) in de periode 1990-1992, de beweging Vote Against Everone! Now! in 1998 en de Radek Community in 2000. Hij heeft ook kunst(theorie)tijdschriften uitgegeven: Radek (1993-1994) en Baza ('basis') vanaf 2010.
