M HKA gaat digitaal

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

Ensemble: ETER

ETER is the loose-leaf journal, filled with original contributions (collages, drawings, texts, graphic art) of several artists and poets with which Gette hopes to 'de toucher toutes les branches actuelles de la vie artistique' [be able to touch on all actual branches of artistic life]. In 1966 and 1967 ten numbers of ETER appear, that for unclear administrative reasons is officially issued in Malmö, Sweden. The first five issues contain contributions of various artists as Paul De Vree. One copy costs 10 French franc. Reportedly, it is the intention that the reader retains what he likes and throws away what he doesn't find interesting... The contributions range from abstract compositions and collages with a New Realist touch to concrete and visual poetry. Also the first five issues of ETER can be regarded as the earliest example of the assembling strategy (where the artists themselves are responsible for the creation and circulation of their contribution, which is then bundled into a publication) – four years before the first 'official' assembling with that name, published by Richard Kostelanetz in New York (1970).
