"[The project] began quite slowly, in Mexico, where I did live close to the centre of the world, which was an actual tree. When you go to that tree, you see that it marks the centre of the world, there’s no argument about it. There is also a magnolia tree, close to where I grew up, that also marks the centre of the world and you can’t argue with that either. … what a coincidence that I am so often at the centre of the world!"
