As part of his studies at the HISK, Roelandt experimented extensively with colour and space. He taped the windows of his studio with transparent Congo blue foil, stacked television sets either emitting (displaying) static or displaying the colours red, green and blue, displayed his signature, signed in light, combined 12 white fluorescent tubes at different colour temperatures in a single installation, put together a bouquet of green fluorescent tubes, and so on and so forth.
